Hello. I am a graduate student in New York City enrolled in a course on Global Information Technology. One of our assignments this semester (September - December) is to research computing infrastructure in other countries. I selected Indonesia. While there is a lot of information on the Internet about computers in Indonesia, it would be interesting to read about computing experiences from some individuals in your country. If you have any stories or observations you would like to share, please e-mail me at "pstawasz@americanbible.org". Thanks for your time; I look forward to hearing from some of you.

    Hello,
my name is Katja Wachter (Borowski) and I come from Germany. I visited Indonesia in 1992 and this year. In 1992 I took part in an exchange- programme between Bandung and Braunschweig. So it would be great if someone who took part too would read this and answer me. I would like to join the Dharmasiswa programme next year in Octobre in order to live in Indonesia for one year and learn more about the culture and language. So it would be nice if someone who lives in Indonesia would like to become my penpal (in order that I have got a friend when I arrive in Indonesia...). So here is my e-mail- address: katwachter@aol.com. So I really hope that someone likes to send me a mail. Bye Katja

    Hello:
I am hoping that someone out there, preferably a native Indonesian, will be able to give me some much needed advice regarding matters of the heart. I am a native US citizen and have recently met an Indonesian woman. I do not speak Indonesian and she does not speak English. We communicate by writing to one another in Indonesian, which is quite complicated as you might imagine. I am looking for someone who can help me by answering some questions that I have. Please communicate with me directly at lewisal@aramco.com.sa if you can help me.
    Thanks,
    Arnold Lewis

    Hello Budi
Thank you for creating such good things on this web-site.

I visited Indonesia for the first time in July and was impressed. Then I met Rully from Malang in Lombok who was singing with a band, by now they left Senggigi for Surabaya, since they got the chance to appear at the Hyatt hotel there. I fell in love with Rully, but I cannot reach him. Who can help me?
My name is Cinzia Saeli and I am from Switzerland.
    Thanks and bye bye

    Hi Budi,
I like your webpage and have made friends through your site. It's wonderful. But when I go to food section, I found it outdated. I sent a recipe for Ayam Goreng Mentega (Fried Chicken with Butter) sometime in June and haven't heard anything since, nor did I see it on the site. It will be interesting if you can update it so we can have new recipes once in a while, or exchange recipes with other readers. That'll be neat.
    Thanks, Maria

A few friends and myself are travelling to Bali and through Indonesia (skipping places such as Timor with the current crisis) for a few months beginning in the middle of May. We have all been to Bali, Nusa Lembongan, Lombok, Sumbawa before and know how to handle ourselves. However, we do have some concerns regarding the elections that are due to take place on June 6th in Indonesia. Can anyone suggest any places to stay that may be fairly safe at this time and what sort of attitudes the Indonesians may have towards foreigners during this time?? We sort of thought going to Lembongan may be a good option as it is fairly quiet and secluded. Myself and a friend will be in Indonesia for a total of 3.5 months (after going to Singapore and coming back to Bali in between), if anyone wants to meet up, we'd be happy to hang out with some Balinese (we already know quite a few), or if your not drop me a line anyway!! - we're just a couple of Aussie surfers from Adelaide in Australia doing their best to enjoy the country, its culture, and of course its surf!!!
Bye for now and thanks for any help anyone can provide.
    Clayton

Hello, my name is Hilke Vrensen and I am a 24- year old female student in Communicationmanagement at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. I have been interested in human rights for a long time and I have been working as a volunteer at Amnesty International. At the moment I am researching the way the Internet and especially email are being used in relation to human rights. In my casestudy I will focus on Indonesia. Newspapers say there is an email-revolution going on in Indonesia and that fascinates me. I wonder what role the Internet plays for human rights. Therefore I am looking for people who:
    1) are engaged in activities concerning human rights in Indonesia, and
    2) use the Internet or email for these purposes.
If you fit this description, maybe you could find 10 minutes to fill in this questionnaire at http://www.xs4all.nl/~hilmar/ and please tell everybody who uses the Internet for human rights in Indonesia to visit my website. Thank you very much!

I was delighted to find your page - by chance. I visited Indonesia for the third time in January. People should not be afraid to go there but they should be security conscious as in any poor country - do not tempt people by displays of affluence. Learn about their customs and the language. Enjoy the country and the people.

Hi, I just passed by and read your message. As an Indonesian, I'm sorry for what the Indonesians have done to chinese-people. Personally I think it's not right. I have a few Chinese-Indonesian friends who are more patriotic or more "Indonesianic" than other Indonesians. They were raised and born in Indonesia and I think they should have equal rights.
