What is BHTV?
It is an initiative to create a condusive ecosystem where business based on technology can grow. Originally it is an initiative of "Deperindag" (Ministry of Industry and Trade) to increase Indonesia's export. However, now it is become a movement.

Where is BHTV? Is it a place somewhere in Bandung?
Well, the name implies "Bandung" city. However, BHTV covers an area between Jakarta and Bandung. There is no physical place.

Are you trying to immitate Silicon Valley?
Not really. We are not trying to copy Silicon Valley verbatim. We understand that we are different. What we want to copy is the "spirit of Silicon Valley," where people are really focused (serious) in what they are doing.

Why Bandung?
Bandung has the highest density of technology and human resources (in technology). Bandung has top universities in Indonesia (which attract talented students from all over Indonesia). For example, ITB attracts top 5% of Indonesian students. Research institutions are scattered in Bandung (eg. RISTI [research body of PT Telkom], four Inter University Research Centers [PPAU], B4T, LAPAN [atomic research]). Government entities that deal with technology are located in Bandung (eg. PT Telkom, PT Pos, Perumka, Pindad, LEN, LIPI, and many more). You could not find a better place than Bandung for this.

Is BHTV exclusively an IT initiative?
No. It is not. There are discussions on biotechnology, nano technology, and other technologies. IT is just one of many potential technologies BHTV initiative is interested in. However, IT people are more vocal. Thus, they are more dominant in the discussions.
